Changes in YouTube TV: Guide No Longer Jumps to the Top, and the Disappearing Act of the Previous Channel Shortcut

YouTube TV Makes App Tweaks: Live Guide Quirks Fixed, Previous Channel Shortcut in Question

YouTube TV has been making some adjustments to its app, addressing issues with the live guide and potentially reconsidering the recent addition of the previous channel shortcut.

In recent days, Reddit users have reported glitches with the live guide. Users found that when attempting to scroll through the guide, it would immediately jump back to the top, hindering the browsing experience. Responding promptly to these reports, YouTube TV acknowledged the problem and resolved it within a couple of days.

Interestingly, this fix might have also addressed a long-standing quirk related to the live guide on YouTube TV. According to Digital Trends, the platform now retains your position in the guide when you press the back button while watching a channel selected from the guide. Previously, this action would return users to the top of the list. Users began noticing this change a little over a week ago.

However, with the positive comes a bit of uncertainty. Some YouTube TV users recently observed the rollout of a shortcut designed to swiftly switch between previously watched channels. While this shortcut didn't see widespread availability, it appears to have disappeared for some who initially had access to it. The future of this feature remains unclear, leaving users hopeful for its return in future updates.
