According to a recent report from Business Insider, Amazon is incorporating a new large language model (LLM), codenamed Olympus, for Alexa Plus. This LLM has a different structure compared to the one powering Classic Alexa, aiming to make Remarkable Alexa more conversational and personalized. In a preview provided to 15,000 users, Alexa Plus demonstrated improved conversational and personalized capabilities. However, it occasionally provided inaccurate information and deflected answers, leading to dissatisfaction at Amazon.

To address these concerns, Amazon plans to undergo a comprehensive overhaul of Alexa's technology stack. While details about this revamping are currently scarce, Business Insider reports internal challenges arising from the team working on Classic Alexa insisting on preserving their previous work for Remarkable Alexa. This has resulted in a more complex technology stack, creating internal conflicts within the team.

The performance issues encountered during the testing phase may potentially delay the launch of Alexa Plus. An insider mentioned to Business Insider that if the paid version fails to generate revenue, Amazon's voice assistant business could face significant challenges.
